James “Jamey” Leonard is a partner and member of the firm’s Employment Law, Business Litigation and Warranty practice groups. He represents automotive manufactures in a host of breach of warranty claims brought under the Song-Beverly Act and Magnusson-Moss Act. Jamey has extensive experience quickly evaluating matters for efficient resolution, keeping in mind the client’s true cost of litigation while providing a detailed analysis of risks. The end result provides the client with a clear analysis of the litigation exposure and legal costs, which allows the client to make informed decisions. Jamey routinely takes and defends depositions, attends product inspections, argues motions and mediates cases.
Jamey also represents employers in all areas of employment litigation, including suits for wrongful termination, defamation, discrimination, wage and hour, and workers’ compensation discrimination. He also counsels employers on everyday employment matters and advises employers regarding new legal developments in the workplace.
Jamey’s career began a Rose Foundation Fellow for the First Amendment Project in 2008 with extensive experience with First Amendment issues, including California’s anti-SLAPP statute.
