Elvira Cortez

Senior Associate

Overview

Elvira Cortez is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation and Employment Law groups. Elvira draws on her extensive civil litigation experience to craft defense strategies to obtain favorable outcomes and solutions for her clients.  She has represented businesses from a wide range of industry sectors in both state and federal court.  She focuses her practice on defending against claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and advising clients on other employment-related matters.  Elvira also assists businesses in resolving commercial disputes and defending clients from products liability claims.

Elvira is a past President of Lawyers Club of San Diego and an alum of the Louis M. Welsh American Inns of Court.  Elvira was selected as Ones to Watch by The Best Lawyers in America in 2020.  She was named in the San Diego Business Journal’s Best of the Bar in 2016 and 2017.  Prior to attending law school, Elvira served as a Fellow for the nationally recognized Capital Fellows Program where she served under the Governor of California’s Secretary of Education.
