Brittney S. Slack is a member of the firm’s Employment Law and Class Action practice groups. She has devoted her legal career to defending and advising employers ranging from startups and small family businesses to multinational companies on a variety of labor and management matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodation, workplace violence, wrongful termination, unfair competition, and wage and hour claims.
As a litigator, Ms. Slack advocates for companies and management in state and federal courts, mediation, arbitration proceedings, agency charges, and contract negotiations. She has in-depth experience defending (and settling) individual, class, and collective actions throughout California. In addition to litigation, Ms. Slack counsels employers on proactive and effective ways to reduce their risk of litigation through policy changes, employee handbook updates and revisions, structured onboarding procedures, compliant leaves of absence, workplace investigations, discipline and terminations, employment agreements, enforceable arbitration agreements, human resource issues and strategies, and compliance with various aspects of labor and employment law.
Ms. Slack earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was actively involved in the Moot Court Board, Mock Trial, and International Law Journal and served as a Legal Research & Writing Assistant and Pro Bono Legal Advocate for domestic violence victims.
Before law school, Ms. Slack graduated in the top 6% of her class from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Minor in Professional Writing: Business Communication.
Outside of work, Ms. Slack enjoys spending time with her dog Chewie, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, and exploring different restaurants and comedy clubs around San Diego.
