Mellania E. Safarian

Senior Associate

Overview

Mellania E. Safarian is a member of the firm’s Employment and Business Litigation practice groups. She has extensive practice experience in all phases of litigation, including trial. Mellania has litigated matters in both state and federal court, including private mediation, throughout California.

While in law school, Mellania earned several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in International Law and served as a judicial extern in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. She was also actively involved in the Appellate Moot Court Board, earning her a membership into the prestigious Order of Barristers.

Before joining Wilson Turner Kosmo, Mellania worked for an insurance defense firm where she defended individuals, public entities, and businesses in a variety of matters, including personal injury, premises liability, and products liability. As a result, she has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for Civil Litigation – Defense since 2020.

Representative Matters

  • Served as second chair in a products liability/warranty litigation lawsuit.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of retail establishments in personal injury and premises liability lawsuits in both state and federal courts.
  • Motion to Dismiss granted in long-cause, multi-million dollar personal injury lawsuit involving multiple parties, claims, and cross-claims.
  • Obtained dismissal of products liability lawsuit on behalf of medical device company after filing a Motion for Terminating Sanctions.
