As many of you may know, our Chair, Lynn Luker, was recently appointed by Order of the Louisiana Supreme Court as Judge Pro Tempore, Civil District Court, Parish of Orleans. Congratulations to Lynn for being appointed to this very prestigious position.
As a result, effective August 14, Lynn has resigned as Chair of NAMWOLF to focus on her full time judge position. On the same day, the Board unanimously elected Robin Wofford as the new Chair. On behalf of the Board, we are very happy to have Robin in this role. Robin has been instrumental in helping NAMWOLF shape its vision for more than ten years and we are fortunate to have a Chair who is so passionate and knowledgeable about NAMWOLF. Robin has served on the NAMWOLF Board for three years and has spearheaded many committees, co-chaired Annual and Business meetings, focused her efforts to refer work to other law firm members and encouraged Corporate Partners to commit to NAMWOLF. Robin’s passion for diversity and inclusion is mirrored by her partners at her San Diego law firm –Wilson Turner Kosmo LLP. Robin’s practice covers a broad span of business and employment litigation and in her new role she will continue to promote NAMWOLF to her clients. “I am humbled and honored to have been elected Chair of NAMWOLF and know I have large shoes to fill. I have put my heart and soul into this organization because I believe in its mission and more importantly its people. As an organization, we need to continue to make a difference by supporting one another’s success and demonstrating to the legal profession the benefits of diversity and inclusion.” Robin will continue working with the Board, our member firms, in-house counsel and myself to help NAMWOLF achieve its mission and vision.
The entire Board of Directors wishes to express its enormous gratitude for Lynn’s leadership, passion and grace as our Chair, as well as the enormous time commitment she has made to the success of our organization and its members. While we will miss her greatly, we know the citizens of New Orleans will be well served with Lynn Luker on the bench. We look forward to having her back in the NAMWOLF family after she finishes her term. We welcome Robin into her new role and look forward to seeing all of you at our Annual Meeting, September 21 – 24, in Philadelphia.
