Wilson Turner Kosmo LLP Elevates Five to Partner in 2025

Leading San Diego law firm elevates attorneys Elvira Cortez, Hang Alexandra Do, Olivia J. Miner, Aimee Axelrod Parker and Morgan D. Stewart to partner

SAN DIEGO (Jan. 14, 2025) – San Diego-based law firm Wilson Turner Kosmo, one the largest certified women-owned firms in California, has elevated legal industry leaders Elvira Cortez, Hang Alexandra Do, Olivia J. Miner, Aimee Axelrod Parker and Morgan D. Stewart to partner as of Jan. 1, 2025.

Elvira Cortez

Cortez’s leadership spans the firm’s Business Litigation, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Employment and Investigations practice groups. She represents businesses across industries in state and federal courts against high-stakes claims including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, products liability and commercial disputes. Cortez also provides proactive counsel and neutral investigation services that help companies navigate complex legal challenges while fostering equitable and inclusive workplaces.

As past president of Lawyers Club of San Diego, Cortez championed gender equality and amplified the voices of women in law and society. Through her leadership on the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations’ Diversity Committee, she’s now helping increase the participation of women of color in the law. Cortez earned her law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law and bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. For her legal and community work, she’s been recognized with Profiles and Diversity Journal’s Latino Leadership Award, selected as Ones to Watch by The Best Lawyers in America and named to the San Diego Business Journal’s Best of the Bar.

Hang Alexandra Do

Do, a rising leader in law, has a diverse practice spanning the firm’s Product Liability, Warranty, Trade Secret Litigation, Class Actions, Employment and Business Litigation practice groups. Do represents a breadth of clients in class actions and defends against product liability and warranty claims. She’s managed hundreds of cases from pre-litigation negotiation through trial and post-trial motions in state and federal courts. Committed to realizing a profession that celebrates, supports and advances diverse talent, Do is the current co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee, tasked with evaluating WTK’s goals for recruitment, professional development and community involvement.

Prior to her legal career, Do worked as an organic chemistry research scientist. She earned her law degree from California Western School of Law, her Master of Science in Chemistry from California State University, Fullerton and her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, Riverside. Active in the local legal community, she serves on the California Minority Counsel Program’s Ambassadors Council. Do’s achievements have led to her recognition on The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch™ and San Diego Super Lawyers – Rising Star lists.

Olivia J. Miner

A partner in the firm’s Product Liability, Warranty and Business Litigation practice groups, Miner vigorously defends healthcare companies, food and beverage manufacturers and automotive and industrial distributors, manufacturers and retailers against a breadth of consumer protection and personal injury claims. Throughout her career, she’s built a reputation for securing favorable arbitration awards, settlements and summary judgments in product and premises liability, consumer protection, fraud and negligence cases.

Upon graduating from the University of California, Irvine, Miner began her career in compliance at an international government contracting firm. She later earned her law degree from California Western School of Law. After law school, her practice focused on investigating and exposing fraudulent medical treatment and billing practices along with insurance fraud. Now a leader in San Diego’s legal community, Miner is an active member of NAMWOLF, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and Lawyers Club of San Diego. Miner’s unwavering commitment to excellence in law has earned her inclusion on The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch™ in America for Product Liability Litigation – Defendants.

Aimee Axelrod Parker

Axelrod Parker, a partner in the firm’s Employment, Class Actions and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practice groups, collaborates strategically with businesses and organizational leaders to address challenges, achieve operational goals, reduce legal risks and foster inclusive workplaces. She has extensive experience advocating for clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, agency charges, contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions as well as defending individual, class and collective actions. Axelrod Parker excels in litigation and change management, with deep experience with transportation workers including drivers in the gig economy, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, financial institutions and the automotive industry. She also advises employers on workplace policies, performance management, accommodations and terminations.

Prior to her legal career, Axelrod Parker led communications for the world’s largest corporate trademark licensing firm. She earned her law degree at University of San Diego School of Law, bachelor’s degree from Hollins University and studied performing arts with the American Ballet Theater and Metropolitan Opera in Manhattan. She is a member of the California Lawyers Association, Federal Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association, Lawyers Club of San Diego and National Association of Women Lawyers.

Morgan D. Stewart

A leader in the firm’s Employment practice group, Stewart skillfully defends employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wage and hour violations in state and federal court. In addition to litigation, she counsels clients on best employment practices and provides strategic guidance on evolving laws and regulations to help businesses navigate complex workplace challenges.

After a clerkship with the Hon. Kathleen Cardone of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Stewart began her career as an associate in a New York City law firm handling antitrust and other complex litigation matters. She came to San Diego in 2012 to serve as a trial attorney with Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc., where she gained extensive trial experience defending indigent clients charged with a wide array of federal crimes. She returned to civil litigation and joined WTK in 2020.

Committed to advancing the careers of women in the law, she is a member of the Trials Practice Area Committee of NAMWOLF and served as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Reed College and her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
