SAN DIEGO (Feb. 12, 2024) – The San Diego-based law firm Wilson Turner Kosmo, one the largest certified women-owned firms in California, welcomes partner Loleena Ansari May to its Employment Practice Group, where she’ll exclusively focus on conducting independent workplace investigations and assessments.
“Loleena leverages her wealth of experience in employment law to conduct complex workplace investigations with flexibility and pragmatism,” said WTK Managing Partner Carolina Bravo-Karimi. “This work is critical to helping organizations investigate, uncover, resolve and, even prevent, instances of employee and institutional misconduct. We’re thrilled to welcome Loleena back to the firm.”
May first joined WTK in 2016, representing employers in a variety of employment disputes in state and federal courts. She also advised small to Fortune 500 companies across industries on complying with the law and conducted employee training on topics including anti-bias, discrimination, equity and inclusion, harassment and conflict resolution.
May’s practice later shifted to exclusively conducting independent workplace investigations and assessments in the private and public employment sectors. For the last two and a half years, May served as an attorney investigator with a leading West Coast-based investigations law firm, investigating high-profile and complex workplace matters including sexual harassment, sexual assault, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower retaliation, disability related claims, workplace bullying and other misconduct for clients in the technology, health, sports, education, retail, nonprofit and government sectors. During this time, Loleena received a certificate from the Association of Workplace Investigators after successfully completing the 2022 Training Institute for Workplace Investigators.
Previously, May served as a staff attorney at Appellate Defenders, Inc., and nonprofit law firm administering the appointed counsel system in criminal, juvenile, dependency and mental health cases before the California 4th District Court of Appeal. May served as appointed appellate counsel to indigent individuals on direct appeals and supervised panel attorneys on their appellate work.
May earned a law degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law, a master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology from Hofstra University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego.
